Merit Medical Systems said President Joseph has resigned and will leave on Jan. 3 after less than a year in the role.

The healthcare technology company on Monday said that his resignation comes after the executive received notice of allegations over his conduct that independent directors of the board and an independent counsel were investigating.

"The allegations were unrelated to Merit's operations or financial performance," the company said.

Wright wasn't immediately available for comment.

The company re-appointed founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Fred Lampropoulos as Merit's president, it added.

Wright had been appointed to the president position in March after a roughly two-decade career at the company.
