1806 ET - U.S. home sales rose in 6.4% November from a year ago, but were down 11.6% from October, reflecting the typical year-end slowdown, RE/MAX said. In the 50 metro markets surveyed for the company's housing report for November 2024, inventory rose 25% from the same month in 2023. The survey also shows new listings were 8.5% higher year over year but dropped 23.5% month over month. The median sales price was $429,000, up 5.7% from November 2023's $406,000, but down 0.2% from October's $430,000. RE/MAX President Amy Lessinger said with consumer confidence rising and Millennials driving demand, this year looks set to outperform 2023 overall. (stephen.nakrosis@wsj.com)
