AML3D (ASX:AL3) said its technology center in Ohio equipped with an Arcemy printer is open and is already fulfilling a AU$2.3 million order from the Tennessee Valley Authority, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.

The order supports the company's plans to invest an additional AU$12 million to double the site's capacity with two additional Arcemy-brand printers, the filing said.

The wire additive manufacturing company said it plans to install a second Arcemy printer at the center in January 2025. US-based manufacturing is essential to access lucrative contracts restricted by the US International Traffic in Arms Regulations and other defense-related contracts, the company said.

AML3D said it is moving funds from its recent capital raise to establish an Arcemy system in Europe.

The company's shares gained over 1% in recent Friday trade.
