South Korea's Kospi 0.3% Lower; Battery, Shipbuilding Stocks Retreat -- Market Talk

0026 GMT - South Korea's benchmark Kospi falls 0.3% to 2474.56 in early trade as battery and shipbuilding stocks retreat. Foreign and institutional investors are net sellers. Wall Street's overnight losses and the deepening domestic political crisis are weighing on sentiment. President Yoon is facing another impeachment vote on Saturday over his failed martial-law attempt, with more lawmakers calling for his ouster. EV battery maker LG Energy Solution is down 3.2%. Shipbuilder Hanwha Ocean is 1.4% lower. USD/KRW is up 0.1% at 1,433.15, compared with the prior session's Seoul onshore trading close.
