Lynas Rare Earths (ASX:LYC) formally opened its AU$800 million large-scale processing facility at Kalgoorlie in Western Australia, according to a Friday filing with the Australian bourse.
The Kalgoorlie facility was completed in less than two and a half years from the receipt of full construction approvals, the filing said.
The mixed rare earth carbonate produced at Kalgoorlie is shipped to the company's Malaysian facility and will later supply a planned US facility.
The company's shares fell 3% in recent trade.
