South Korea's Kospi Rises 0.1% as Shipbuilding, Home-Appliance Stocks Advance -- Market Talk

0040 GMT - South Korea's benchmark Kospi edges up 0.1% to 2574.17 in early trade, as shipbuilding and home-appliance stocks advance. Institutional investors are net buyers. Trading volume is thin as investors await 3Q earnings results from LG Electronics, SK Hynix and Hyundai Motor--all due Thursday. Consumer electronics giant LG Electronics is up 2.7% after guiding for 2030 revenue and profit growth. Most shipbuilders are higher, with HD Hyundai Mipo rising 3.5%. USD/KRW is 0.1% higher at 1,381.35, compared with the previous onshore trading close. The South Korean 10-year government bond yield is up 7.6 bps at 3.130%. (kwanwoo.jun@wsj.com)
