Toho's Attributable Profit Jumps 29% in Fiscal H1

Toho's (TYO:8142) profit attributable to owners of the parent jumped 28.5% to 2.28 billion yen in the fiscal six months ended July 31, from 1.78 billion yen a year ago.

The entertainment company's basic earnings per share rose to 212.08 yen from 165.06 yen a year ago, according to a filing on Tuesday.

Net sales 1.8% to 121.2 billion yen from 119.0 billion yen a year earlier.

It forecasted attributable profit to grow 22% to 4.40 billion yen or 409.96 yen per basic share and net sales to gain 0.4% to 246.0 billion yen for the fiscal year ending Jan. 31, 2025.

It declared an interim dividend of 55 yen per share, payable from Oct. 18. The company expects to pay a year-end dividend of 55 yen per share for the current fiscal year.

Toho's shares lost over 1% at market close.
