Kokusai Electric Spends 5.9 Billion Yen in Share Buyback; Shares Up 5%
Kokusai Electric (TYO:6525), a player in semiconductor equipment manufacturing, repurchased 1.77 million shares for 5.86 billion yen between Sept. 1 and 10, concluding part of its buyback program, according to a Wednesday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The company plans to repurchase up to 6 million shares, capped at 18 billion yen, by Sept. 20. So far, 5.1 million shares worth 17.99 billion yen have been repurchased.
Shares of the company were up nearly 5% in recent trade.
