Value investor Duan Yongping said on November 6 that, based on after-hours prices, Apple was once again the top company by market capitalization and that its shares reflected about a 40x price-to-earnings multiple. He made the comment in a brief post on the Chinese investment platform Snowball.

He wrote: "Based on after-hours prices, Apple is back to No. 1 by market cap. A 40x PE—quite interesting." His wording highlighted that Apple was "again" in the leading position by market value, and he characterized the valuation as "quite interesting."

In equity markets, "after-hours prices" refer to transactions executed outside the regular trading session, and these prices can differ from the official closing price. A price-to-earnings (PE) multiple expresses a stock’s price relative to its per-share earnings and is commonly used to describe valuation levels. Duan’s note is a concise observation about Apple’s market-cap ranking and its approximate valuation multiple, reflecting a snapshot based on late-session trading activity.
