Steakholder Foods Unveils New Plant-Based Meal Range, Shares Surge

Deep News
May 22

Israeli food technology company Steakholder Foods announced the launch of a new line of plant-based meal products on May 21. Stimulated by this positive news, the company's stock price rose significantly by over 10% on the day, reaching an intraday high of $1.58 and closing at $1.56.

The newly launched product line is named Perfecta, positioned as a next-generation plant-based protein platform with the slogan of perfect plant-based meat. The product series includes whole-cut plant-based items designed to mimic the texture and form of steaks and chicken breasts, as well as an extrusion-formed series, such as imitation salmon, white fish, and burger patties. All products utilize the company's self-developed 3D printing technology and proprietary production processes, capable of simulating the complex fibrous structure and mouthfeel of traditional meats, and creating fat distribution characteristics similar to marbling.

According to the plan, Perfecta will be launched in phases in the northeastern United States in the second half of 2026, and will gradually expand to retail channels as the supply chain and distribution network grows. Arik Kaufman, CEO of Steakholder Foods, stated that entering the U.S. market is a critical step in the company's commercialization process, reflecting its technological maturity and its readiness and determination to enter one of the world's most important markets.

Steakholder Foods was founded in 2019, focusing on developing 3D printing production equipment and proprietary premix formulations, aiming to help manufacturers of various scales efficiently produce alternative protein products. This product line launch marks the company's transition from a technology licensing model to a direct-to-consumer brand strategy.
