Hangzhou's Fengzhigu Scenic Area recently activated a crucial 7,000kVA power capacity expansion, providing robust electricity support for its newly developed Cold Spring Bay water attractions and upcoming winter ski resort expansion. At the Lin'an district site, technicians conduct final checks on eight mountain-hugging waterslides winding through pristine forests, with specially treated "glass water" shimmering in preparation for opening.
"These eight slides of varying scales deliver unprecedented thrill experiences," stated Cheng Jibin, Deputy General Manager of Hangzhou Fengzhigu Tourism Co., Ltd. "We're targeting trial operations by the 5th and full public access around the 10th."
Facing urgent power demands in early June, State Grid Hangzhou Electric Power Company launched emergency protocols to fast-track the project. "Our dual-circuit power supply solution significantly enhances voltage stability for the scenic area and surrounding farmstay businesses during visitor surges," explained Ye Min, High-Voltage Team Lead at Changhua Power Supply Station. "This directly improves operational reliability during peak seasons."
Nestled among western Lin'an's river-carved mountains, the region leverages its natural advantages to cultivate a "cooling economy" tourism ecosystem. From canyon rafting adventures to tranquil mountain lodges, the area is evolving diverse summer-centric offerings through infrastructure upgrades and service innovations.
This tourism boom intensifies power demands as modern facilities—water circulation systems, refrigeration equipment, and specialized lighting—require stable high-capacity supply. State Grid's "Electricity + Tourism" service package now provides energy diagnostics and efficiency solutions to scenic operators, helping reduce operational costs.
Cheng emphasized the project's regional distinction: "This third-generation water entertainment concept stands unmatched across the Yangtze River Delta. The preserved ecological canopy creates uniquely cool microclimates, making it an ideal summer retreat."
