The heartwarming story of a nurse who helped save a driver's life continues to unfold. Following her decision to donate a gifted vehicle, she has now used the proceeds to purchase critical medical equipment for her community.

In Jiangsu's Jingjiang City, Wang Fang, a nurse at the Shengci Town Central Health Center, recently conducted training on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). The AED units used in this training were bought with funds raised from auctioning off a brand-new car she had received as a gift.

The chain of events began on May 14th. While waiting at a traffic light, Wang Fang's vehicle was struck from behind. Upon investigating, she discovered the driver of the other car was unconscious, yet their foot remained on the accelerator, causing the car to creep forward dangerously. Recognizing the emergency as a medical professional, Wang Fang acted swiftly. She returned to her car, engaged the handbrake, and used her vehicle to block the moving car, preventing a further accident while calling for emergency services and shouting for help.

Several bystanders, including Xu Qiaolin, Li Xiaoming, Li Laisong, Yao Yonghong, and Xie Hongmei, rushed to assist. The group worked together to secure the vehicle, break a window, and perform CPR, successfully reviving the unconscious driver before paramedics arrived.

In recognition of her heroic actions, a charitable automobile company presented Wang Fang with a new car. She declined the gift on the spot, instead requesting that her hospital publicly auction the vehicle and donate the proceeds to charity, ensuring the goodwill continued to spread.

That harrowing rescue experience made Wang Fang acutely aware of the vital importance of pre-hospital emergency care. Consequently, she decided to allocate all auction proceeds towards purchasing AEDs. After careful planning and installation, 12 new AED units were fully operational at various community locations by June 12th.

At a training session held at a local community service post, some of the citizens who had assisted in the original rescue, including Li Xiaoming, Yao Yonghong, and Xie Hongmei, attended the AED instruction. After completing the systematic training, Xie Hongmei shared her thoughts: "Last time, we relied on raw courage and instinct. Now, having learned the standard first-aid procedures, I feel truly equipped to help if another emergency arises."
