On September 9, former REDMI brand general manager Wang Teng posted on Weibo, stating that he has seen many rumors online regarding his departure, calling them false information and outrageous.

"Let me clarify: I did not steal company secrets for sale, nor did I receive money from anyone. While I had dereliction of duty and am deeply reflecting on it, I have not engaged in any illegal behavior! Rumors end with the wise - please focus more on the new products that will be launched soon," he stated.

On the evening of September 8, Xiaomi Corp.'s Professional Ethics Committee issued an internal notice stating that Wang Teng, an employee in the China region marketing department, leaked confidential company information and engaged in serious violations including conflicts of interest. The company decided to dismiss Wang Teng.

The notice stated that Xiaomi Corp. has always adhered to core values of "sincerity and passion." For all types of violations and misconduct, the company maintains a "zero tolerance, full coverage, no restricted areas" approach, investigating and handling each case discovered without exception. The Group's Professional Ethics Committee will continue to strengthen the investigation and handling of violations and misconduct in accordance with national laws and company regulations.

According to records, Wang Teng joined Xiaomi Corp. in 2016 and previously served as REDMI Marketing Department General Manager and REDMI Brand General Manager. Before his dismissal, his position was General Manager of Xiaomi Corp.'s China Region Marketing Department and REDMI Brand General Manager.

It was learned that Wang Teng's office account currently shows as deactivated in Xiaomi Corp.'s internal system.

Wang Teng posted on Weibo on the evening of September 8, saying: "I am ashamed to apologize to everyone. I made some mistakes in the past and accept the consequences. Thank you to Mr. Lei and company leaders for years of cultivation and trust. I am very reluctant to leave. I will continue to support Xiaomi Corp. and REDMI as always in the future."
