Recently, the "My Bus, My City" promotional campaign made its debut in Nanning, where journalists visited Guangxi University Station on Metro Line 5 to explore its smart station features.

At Guangxi University Metro Station, staff assist passengers with ticketing and travel guidance. Urban public transport bridges urban development and people's livelihoods.

Since launching multimodal public transport integration in September 2022, Nanning has strengthened planning and resource coordination through top-level design, leveraged digital technology for smarter dispatching and services, and optimized stations and efficiency to address travel challenges. Today, Nanning has established a modern public transport system with rail as the backbone, buses as the mainstay, and slow traffic as a supplement, ensuring seamless connectivity. The "three-network integration" green travel system is increasingly refined, offering efficient and convenient travel experiences that enhance residents' satisfaction and well-being.

**Planning-Driven: Strengthening Integrated Development** Nanning’s public transport integration began with a systematic "one-game" approach. In 2022, Nanning Public Transport Group and Nanning Citizen Card Company were transferred under Nanning Rail Transit Investment Group. In 2023, the city implemented the *Three-Year Action Plan for Multimodal Public Transport Integration (2023–2025)*, creating a citywide travel network and advancing integrated infrastructure, services, and management.

The rail network has invigorated urban development. On September 26 this year, the extended section of Metro Line 4 opened, expanding operational mileage to over 132 km and forming a comprehensive "five-line, eight-direction" network across major districts and the Yong River. With daily ridership exceeding 1.03 million, Nanning Metro ranks among the top in passenger density nationally, solidifying its role as a backbone service.

Buses fill service gaps precisely. Nanning continuously optimizes routes to enhance bus-metro synergy. Micro-hubs in areas like Longgang improve local connectivity, while Fujian Garden’s TOD hub—the first in Guangxi—enables seamless transfers between metro, buses, and e-bikes. Metro express buses create efficient micro-networks, with 91.51% of metro stations having bus coverage within 50 meters and 100% e-bike connectivity within 30 meters.

**Tech-Driven: Smart and Convenient Travel** Smart services act as the "nervous system" of Nanning’s transport network. Digital solutions address travel pain points, with the "one-platform" integration at its core, offering intelligent, end-to-end services.

Residents can use the *Nanning Metro* app or *One-Code City* mini-program to ride metro, buses, and BRT with transfer discounts. Digital services extend to small payments, vehicle inspections, EV charging, dining, shopping, and tourism, integrating convenience into daily life.

The "smart brain" boosts efficiency. Nanning’s integrated data platform, N+MaaS, and the pioneering "Metro + Bus" smart dispatching system optimize operations.

**On-Demand Services** Two on-demand bus routes in Xixianghu and Longgang allow app-based bookings, with AI-driven dispatching. Priced at just ¥2, these "bus-taxis" have served over 200,000 passengers, reducing wait times to 6–10 minutes and leading nationally in daily orders.

**Service-Oriented: Meeting Diverse Needs** Nanning embeds care into every detail of public transport, making it a window of urban warmth.

Multiple bus lines, like No. 5 and No. 206, have earned national "Elderly-Friendly Service" honors. The city has introduced low-floor buses, upgraded stations, and launched 18 elderly-friendly routes. Metro "Care Booking" assists seniors and mobility-impaired passengers end-to-end, while those aged 65+ enjoy free or discounted rides.

**School Protection Lines** Custom "school buses" solve the "last-mile" problem for students, easing parental burdens and reducing schoolgate congestion, supporting Nanning’s child-friendly city goals.

**Special Routes with Heart** "Vegetable Basket Lines" connect suburban farmers to urban markets. Intercity and rural routes, like Nanning-Fusui, bridge urban-rural gaps, aiding rural revitalization. Thirty-five cultural-tourism lines, including Folk Song Buses and concert shuttles, turn buses into mobile "city galleries."

**Thoughtful Details** Metro features temperature-zoned cars, rest areas, study spaces, and charging ports. Bus drivers yield at crosswalks and wait for seated passengers—small gestures earning widespread praise.

Through deep integration of buses, metro, and slow traffic, Nanning showcases a greener, smarter, and more livable urban transport model. The city will continue refining services, making efficient, eco-friendly, and warm travel a cornerstone of urban development and quality of life.
