On October 31, 2025 (after Hong Kong trading hours), WANDA HOTEL DEV (00169) announced that its indirect non-wholly owned subsidiary, Wanda Chicago, has entered into an agreement with CPE. Under the agreement, Wanda Chicago will acquire a 49% stake in the target company, Vampire Squid Productions Limited, in exchange for transferring its rights, titles, and interests in 16 condominium units to CPE.

The target company, registered in the UK, is currently owned 51% by Wanda Children and 49% by CPE. It primarily engages in licensing television productions to broadcasters. The condominium units involved in the transaction are located at 363 E. Wacker Drive, Chicago, Illinois 60601, and were transferred to the group on December 30, 2024, following the enforcement of a mortgage related to the Chicago project.

WANDA HOTEL DEV has been seeking buyers for 37 condominium units currently held by Wanda Chicago, which were acquired through the same mortgage enforcement. Vampire Squid Productions operates the intellectual property (IP) rights for the popular children's series "Octonauts," providing strong IP resources.

This transaction allows WANDA HOTEL DEV to enter the lucrative cultural IP operations sector, diversifying and expanding its business beyond traditional boundaries. The deal aligns with the company's strategy to identify suitable investment opportunities in domestic and international cultural tourism industries.
