An exchange-traded fund (ETF) offering leveraged exposure to Tesla has surged by more than 14% in today's trading session. As of the latest update, the fund is up 14.06%, trading at HK$117.6 with a turnover of HK$3.4293 million.

The significant move follows the release of the official consensus delivery forecast for the second quarter of 2026. Tesla's investor relations team compiled delivery predictions from 21 analysts to establish a market consensus figure, which is being shared with investors ahead of the official data release. The market's consensus delivery expectation for Tesla stands at 406,024 vehicles. This represents a 12% increase compared to the previous quarter, though it is a slight 1.2% decrease year-over-year. The forecast for energy storage deployments is 13.8 gigawatt-hours, marking a 36% sequential increase.

Catalysts and Strategic Outlook

A notable development fueling investor interest is speculation regarding a potential merger between Tesla and SpaceX, following the latter's record-breaking initial public offering. An analyst from Baird, Ben Kallo, has labeled such a merger as the "ultimate endgame" and predicts an 80% probability that a deal could materialize within the next 12 to 18 months.

Additional Growth Drivers

The analyst also highlighted several other potential catalysts for Tesla Motors (TSLA) beyond the merger speculation. These include advancements in the Optimus humanoid robot project, further regulatory approvals for its Full Self-Driving technology from European Union authorities, expansion of its Robotaxi business in the United States, the commercial rollout of the Tesla Semi truck, and the introduction of new products within its energy division.
