On April 15, KE Holdings Inc. (BEKE-W) distributed the 2025 Green Annual Report individually to 241,434 members of the Green Plan on its platform. The report indicated that the Green Plan disbursed a total of RMB 117,498,170 throughout the year, with 9,782 claims filed. This equates to approximately one family receiving assistance every hour. Data revealed that, beyond member contributions, a funding shortfall of RMB 10,837,595.17 arose from distribution costs and expenses related to third-party services such as insurance company reviews, customer support, and system maintenance. This gap was fully covered by contributions from the company's senior executives. This support mechanism has been in place for several years. Between 2021 and 2025, cumulative subsidies from executives and long-serving employees of KE Holdings and its affiliated company Lianjia have exceeded RMB 112 million. The annual report fully disclosed the assistance details and disbursed amounts for all 9,782 members aided during the year. Unlike for-profit commercial insurance, the Green Plan's coverage extends to the member, their parents and parents-in-law (including step-parents and adoptive parents), and children. It imposes no age limits, provides coverage effective immediately upon enrollment, allows for annual claims for the same illness, and permits separate claims for different family members and different illnesses within the same calendar year, significantly enhancing the flexibility and scope of protection. Data shows that among the members assisted during the year, over 93% of the funds were used to assist members' parents and parents-in-law, while only 7% were claimed by the members themselves. The highest single claim amount reached RMB 827,230, used to assist a member's child diagnosed with neuroblastoma, who is currently in recovery. By the end of 2025, three members had each received over RMB 1 million in assistance from the Green Plan. The Green Plan originated from the Lianjia Group Mutual Aid Fund established in October 2008. It is a mutual aid program specifically created by KE Holdings for its platform employees and service providers, aiming to alleviate the financial pressure on families caused by illness. With continuous donations from executives and long-term employees, the Green Plan increased its cumulative assistance cap from RMB 200,000 to RMB 2 million in January 2021.
