He Xiaopeng: Japanese Car Companies Doubt New Energy Vehicles Due to Cold Climate

The 2025 Sustainable Global Leaders Conference was held from October 16 to 18 at the Shanghai World Expo Park. He Xiaopeng, Chairman and CEO of XPENG-W, attended and delivered a speech.
Discussing the momentum of new energy vehicles in Japan, He Xiaopeng candidly stated that Japanese companies doubt new energy vehicles because of the cold climate. He remarked, “The batteries of new energy vehicles struggle in extremely cold weather; in the past, and even now, their performance is not strong. Therefore, product managers and technical managers in Japan dislike and do not believe in them.”
