SHUANGDENG (06960) surged over 9% again, with an 8.39% increase at the time of writing, reaching HK$23 and a turnover of HK$73.55 million.

On October 27, it was reported that SHUANGDENG is collaborating with the lithium-ion battery materials team at the Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory, led by researcher Huang Xuejie from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, to develop a new battery type expected for mass application by 2026.

"We have completed the first prototype and are now conducting comprehensive performance evaluations, with mass production anticipated in 2026," said Zhong Yihua, SHUANGDENG's technical lead.

As a core player in AIDC energy storage, SHUANGDENG serves major internet and data center operators, including Alibaba, JD.com, Baidu, GDS, and Chindata Group, and has become Alibaba's primary supplier for data center energy storage solutions.

A company representative previously stated that a tenfold increase in AIDC energy consumption would similarly raise backup power demand by roughly ten times. Moreover, as the "green power + energy storage" model gains traction in data centers, the scale of energy storage systems is expected to far exceed traditional backup scenarios, potentially unlocking significant growth opportunities for the company.
