September 23 US Market Top 20 by Trading Volume: SpaceX Gains 1.89% as It Phases Out the Falcon 9 for the New Starship

So far this year, the stock has climbed 185%, far outpacing rival Nvidia's 22% gain. Apple edged up 0.23% to eighth place, trading $13.473 billion. Apple's new Mac desktops began shipping on Tuesday, and company executives pitched corporate buyers with an unusual selling point: purchasing new hardware is more affordable than renting cloud computing power. The new Mac mini and Mac Studio models started delivering that day. These machines, some priced near $20,000, support on-device AI processing, allowing tasks like coding assistance to run locally without purchasing tokens from providers such as OpenAI or Anthropic. Intel advanced 1.71% to ninth on $13.17 billion in volume. On September 22, Intel hosted its technology and innovation conference in Suzhou, partnering with ecosystem players to unveil an all-in-one TBX16 terminal, complete with a full liquid-cooling solution from Envicool. Tesla rose 0.96% to tenth place with $10.586 billion in trades. Tesla is set to unveil its new Roadster on October 1, and the official site has reopened pre-orders, requiring prospective buyers to put down a $5,000 deposit followed by a $45,000 payment via bank transfer within ten days, with the deposit being refundable. Amazon dropped 1.34% to eleventh with $10.506 billion. Alphabet Class A shares fell 1.07% to twelfth, trading $10.441 billion. A US federal court published its ruling in the antitrust case over Google's ad technology, determining that Google breached antitrust laws in certain ad-tech markets by illegally preserving a monopoly. While the court did not order a sale of the ad-tech division, it required adjustments to how the products operate to improve market conditions. Microsoft declined 0.72% to thirteenth on $10.254 billion. On September 22, Microsoft initiated a new round of layoffs affecting around 500 employees, mainly concentrated in the Xbox gaming division, with some additional cuts in cloud and AI units. SpaceX rose 1.89% to sixteenth with $8.835 billion in trades. SpaceX is gradually retiring the Falcon 9, the world's most frequently launched rocket, in favor of the new Starship. The company has stopped accepting shared Falcon 9 missions among multiple clients, and some businesses can no longer secure Falcon 9 launch slots beyond 2028.
