Apple is cutting jobs within the teams responsible for its Siri digital assistant and Vision Pro headset, a strategic move designed to sharpen the company's focus on new devices and artificial intelligence.

According to sources familiar with the matter, Apple is also reducing staff in its Intelligent Systems Experience team, a group housed under the software engineering division that develops certain AI features across Apple's device lineup.

As part of this restructuring, the company has essentially shuttered the Vision Pro gaming team and scaled back the group tasked with producing immersive video content for the Vision Pro, the sources noted.

The layoffs affect more than 200 employees in total, with roughly 100 positions cut from the Vision Pro division and another 100 from the Siri and software teams.

Apple acknowledged in a statement that it is reorganizing certain teams "to advance business priorities and deliver the best experience for our users."
