From January to August 2025, China's automotive market continued its growth momentum, with both production and sales exceeding 20 million units. The new energy vehicle penetration rate for passenger cars rose to 55.3%, while domestic brand market share reached 64%. As the "Golden September, Silver October" period approaches, the industry's leading landscape becomes increasingly clear. In the overlapping wave of new energy and domestic brands, BYD maintains its position at the top of sales charts, continuously demonstrating strong market appeal and growth resilience.
**Record-Breaking Dual Championship in Sales, Leading Industry in Target Completion Rate**
Data shows that BYD sold 374,000 new energy vehicles in August, with cumulative sales reaching 2.864 million units from January to August, representing a 23% year-over-year increase, far exceeding the industry average growth rate and maintaining absolute leadership in China's automotive group new energy sales rankings. Against its annual sales target of 4.6 million units, BYD has completed 62%, achieving multi-dimensional sales leadership and solidifying the foundation for the final sprint in the second half of the year.
Among these, BYD Auto (Dynasty|Ocean) achieved August sales of 343,000 units, with single-brand sales of 2.63 million units from January to August, firmly holding the top position with a commanding lead.
**Technology Leadership Builds Strong Moat**
The sustained sales growth is backed by robust technological capabilities and products. In recent years, BYD's "technology moat" has continued to expand. The "God's Eye" driver assistance system released at the beginning of the year has accumulated over 1.4 million units in sales across equipped models, with domestic sales of driver assistance-equipped vehicles accounting for 90% in August, generating over 87 million kilometers of driver assistance data daily.
In the August intelligent driving assistance vehicle brand sales ranking released by Pacific Auto, BYD dominated with 263,700 units, equivalent to the combined sales of brands ranked 2nd through 10th. Additionally, innovative achievements such as the Lingying onboard drone system and the Super e Platform featuring pioneering megawatt flash charging technology have successively been implemented. The Han L and Tang L, first equipped with the Super e Platform, continue to sell well, injecting core momentum into sales growth.
**Relentless Progress, Accelerated Global Expansion**
Beyond the domestic market, BYD's overseas performance is equally impressive. In August, BYD's overseas sales of passenger cars and pickups reached 80,464 units, up 146.4% year-over-year. Cumulative overseas sales for 2025 have reached 630,728 units, representing a 135.7% year-over-year increase and accounting for 22% of total sales.
At the recently concluded Munich Motor Show in Germany, BYD appeared alongside the Denza brand, showcasing seven flagship models including the Denza Z9GT, D9, BYD Seal 06 DM-i, and megawatt flash charging technology, while announcing that its Hungarian factory will begin production within the year.
Looking ahead, with continuous deepening of technological innovation, ongoing enrichment of product portfolio, and further expansion of global presence, BYD will continue to drive the new energy vehicle industry toward greater efficiency, intelligence, and environmental sustainability through its multi-dimensional growth engine of "technology + products + globalization." The company aims to provide superior green mobility experiences for global users and continue writing the glorious chapter of Chinese brands amid the automotive industry transformation wave.
