Kuaishou's 2025 annual report has disclosed the remuneration of its directors, revealing that Chairman Cheng Yixiao's total compensation for the year amounted to 85.04 million yuan, drawing significant attention. Cheng's remuneration primarily consists of four components: salary and wages of 4.884 million yuan, share-based compensation expenses of 79.973 million yuan, pension plan contributions of 85,000 yuan, and other social security costs of 98,000 yuan. The majority of his compensation stems from equity incentives, indicating that his personal wealth is closely tied to the company's market value. Compared to his total remuneration of 79.876 million yuan in 2024, Cheng's compensation has further increased. Additionally, based solely on the information disclosed in the 2025 annual report, the remuneration of Kuaishou's other co-founder, Su Hua, was only 2.556 million yuan, largely comprising salary and wages of 2.373 million yuan, representing a notable gap compared to Cheng's compensation. As a co-founder of Kuaishou, Cheng Yixiao has led the company to substantial development over the past fifteen years. His early career is also noteworthy: born in 1985 in Tieling City, Liaoning Province, he graduated from Northeastern University. After completing his university studies in 2007, he worked at companies including HP Dalian and Renren. In 2011, Cheng created the precursor to Kuaishou—the GIF-making tool GIF Kuaishou—which gradually evolved into the platform it is today. According to Kuaishou's 2025 annual report, the company achieved revenue of 142.776 billion yuan over the past year, a year-on-year increase of 12.5%, with an annual profit of approximately 18.624 billion yuan, up 21.4% year-on-year. It is evident that Kuaishou experienced strong development in 2025, which is likely one of the reasons for the increase in Cheng's remuneration. Excluding the equity incentive portion, his actual salary and wages amounted to 4.884 million yuan, which is considered relatively reasonable.
