Santander Bank Plans to Expand WhatsApp Usage for Investment Bankers

According to individuals familiar with the matter, Banco Santander SA is planning to expand the group of employees permitted to use the instant messaging application WhatsApp, after some staff complained that the current partial ban was adversely affecting business operations.
The sources indicated that Spain's largest bank intends to allow a small group of investment banking staff, including some employees in Latin America, to communicate via the messaging tool. These individuals also stated that some employees had previously raised concerns internally, reporting that the ban made it difficult for them to maintain smooth communication with clients.
