Recently, value investor Duan Yongping responded a 31-year-old female investor's retirement portfolio question, suggesting that if she does not understand companies at all, buying S&P 500, QQQ, or BRKB would be more suitable for retirement savings.

She had asked about her plan to accumulate 1 million yuan in Nasdaq 100, 1 million yuan in Tencent, and 1 million yuan in Pop Mart, seeking Duan's advice. Duan said he holds significant positions in the latter two but not as concentrated as her plan. He noted that all companies face changes in fundamentals and markets, making it hard to hold without deep understanding.

Duan wrote: "If you really don't understand the companies at all, and your only goal is to preserve value for retirement, maybe it's more appropriate to buy S&P 500, QQQ, or BRKB." He added that if she truly knows Tencent and Pop Mart, her allocation could work, but the key is to own companies she likes and understands.
