Recently, the Market Supervision Bureau of Linxi County, Inner Mongolia, conducted a comprehensive special inspection on contact lenses across the county. Enforcement officers focused on contact lens operating enterprises, eyewear stores, and gift and accessory shops around campuses, examining various compliance aspects including the possession of Medical Device Business Licenses, whether the contact lenses and care solutions being sold have obtained Medical Device Registration Certificates, whether medical devices are purchased from legally qualified medical device registrants, filing parties, and production and operation enterprises, whether incoming inspection and sales record systems have been established, whether there is any operation beyond the permitted scope, whether expired, invalid, or obsolete medical devices are being sold, and whether there are violations such as operating contact lenses and care solutions without Medical Device Business Licenses.
Meanwhile, enforcement officers conducted legal education and awareness campaigns on medical devices. Through a combination of "on-site inspection + case-based legal education" approach, they upheld the principle of legal education and responsibility clarification through case studies, distributing Warning and Advisory Letters on-site, requiring enterprises to strictly implement their primary responsibilities and operate in compliance with laws and regulations according to the Medical Device Business Quality Management Standards.
To date, a total of 18 relevant business entities have been inspected, with 2 risk hazards discovered and 1 violation case lead identified. Moving forward, Linxi County Market Supervision Bureau will continue to strengthen quality and safety supervision of contact lenses and care products, comprehively investigate risk hazards, severely crack down on irregular business practices, and effectively protect the vision health of young people.
