Electric Three-Row SUVs Lead February 2026 Sales, Outpacing All Other Powertrains

Deep News
Mar 18

According to the latest data from China Automotive Terminal released on March 17, in the three-row large SUV market in February 2026, sales of pure electric models reached 24,145 units, surpassing sales of gasoline-powered vehicles (21,439 units), plug-in hybrids (14,954 units), and extended-range electric vehicles (12,011 units).

Pure electric large three-row SUVs ranked first in sales among all powertrain types for the month, with sales volume doubling that of extended-range models. Since overtaking extended-range vehicles in September 2025, pure electric large three-row SUVs have now led in sales for six consecutive months, indicating a clear and ongoing structural shift in the market.

In terms of specific model performance, key pure electric products such as the all-new NIO ES8, Tesla Model YL, and Ledao L90 demonstrated steady market performance, taking the top three sales positions. In economically strong regions of the Yangtze River Delta, including Shanghai and Nanjing, the all-new NIO ES8 achieved a market share exceeding 50% in the large SUV segment. This means that for every two large SUVs sold in these areas, one is a NIO ES8. Cumulative data from January to February shows that the all-new ES8 ranked first in large SUV sales in 12 major northern municipalities and provincial capitals, including Beijing, Tianjin, Changchun, Shenyang, Harbin, Shijiazhuang, Jinan, Taiyuan, Zhengzhou, Xi'an, Hohhot, and Yinchuan. Driven by these leading models, pure electric vehicles have become the mainstream choice for high-end family and business upgrades.
