Following progress in improving accessibility for foreign investors, index provider FTSE Russell will reclassify Vietnam from frontier market to secondary emerging market status for the first time.

According to a statement on FTSE Russell's website, Vietnam will be included in its secondary emerging market category on September 21, 2026, subject to an interim review in March 2026.
