To effectively safeguard public health and ensure the safety of medicines, medical devices, and cosmetics for residents, the Market Supervision Administration of Huaxi District in Guiyang City has recently carried out intensive inspections targeting key areas and potential risks. The campaign, guided by the principles of strict supervision, risk elimination, and baseline protection, aims to standardize market operations and reinforce corporate accountability.
Focusing on pharmaceutical quality and orderly business practices, inspectors conducted full-chain reviews of retail drug stores. Key checks covered procurement, transportation, storage, and sales management, with detailed verification of record-keeping systems and drug traceability code uploads. Violations such as improper storage temperature control, absent licensed pharmacists, and prescription drug sales without valid prescriptions were strictly penalized to protect public medication safety.
In cosmetics safety, authorities launched thorough screenings for non-compliant products, paying special attention to beauty salons with numerous consumer complaints over the past year. Businesses were instructed to strictly implement cosmetic product acceptance procedures, prohibit unauthorized mixing or repackaging, and maintain complete documentation including registration certificates, batch-specific test reports, and adverse reaction records, ensuring comprehensive cosmetic safety.
For medical devices, inspections emphasized quality management systems at distribution and usage sites. Reviews covered the implementation of full-process management rules, purchase acceptance protocols, documentation checks, and expiration date controls. Operations selling non-compliant devices were identified and required to promptly remove problematic products, guaranteeing reliable medical device usage.
The operation inspected 8 pharmaceutical retailers, 8 cosmetics businesses, and 5 medical device operators, identifying 6 batches of non-compliant cosmetics. On-site issues included over-the-counter sales of prescription drugs, inadequate computer systems for traceability, lack of cosmetic safety training, and missing purchase invoices for medical devices—totaling 32 problems, all rectified under supervision.
Moving forward, the Huaxi District Market Supervision Administration will continue enhancing oversight, concentrating on critical sectors, key products, and vital processes. It will rigorously combat illegal activities to continually improve public confidence and satisfaction in the safety of medicines, medical devices, and cosmetics.
