Hong Kong Stock Alert | ZHIHU-W (02390) Surges Over 16% Intraday Ahead of Earnings Announcement Next Wednesday, with Long-term Fund Fidelity International Continuously Increasing Holdings Over Six Months

ZHIHU-W (02390) surged over 16% during trading sessions. As of press time, the stock was up 16.65% to HK$13.59, with a turnover of HK$4.265 million. On the news front, ZHIHU-W plans to hold a board meeting on August 27 to consider and approve its interim results.

Previously, ZHIHU-W reported quarterly results for the period ended March 31, 2025, achieving total revenue of RMB 730 million during the period. The gross profit margin improved from 56.6% in the same period of 2024 to 61.8%. Net loss was RMB 10.1 million, narrowing by 93.9% year-on-year, with basic net loss per share of RMB 0.04.

Zhou Yuan, Chairman and CEO of Zhihu, stated that the company achieved non-GAAP net profit in the first quarter for the first time since its listing, continuing the profitability momentum from the fourth quarter. This achievement reflects the effectiveness of the company's refined operational strategy and the deep integration of artificial intelligence within Zhihu's ecosystem.

Notably, on July 30, a disclosure of interests form filed by globally renowned investment institution Fidelity International with the Stock Exchange showed that as of July 25, Fidelity funds significantly increased their holdings in ZHIHU-W. Holdings grew from 4.576 million ordinary shares at the end of March this year to 12.489 million ordinary shares, with the proportion of all outstanding Class A ordinary shares of Zhihu increasing from 1.83% to 5.01%. This marks the third time Fidelity International has increased its holdings in ZHIHU-W since the end of 2024.

In addition to continuous increases by long-term funds, analysts from CLSA, Citigroup, China International Capital Corporation, GF Securities and others have successively raised Zhihu's ratings and target prices since the beginning of this year, expressing optimism about its long-term development prospects.
