A silver-gray intelligent "mecha" was recently observed in the bearing assembly workshop of the Jiayuguan Depot at Lanzhou Railway Bureau in Gansu Province, skillfully maneuvering its robotic arms to complete bearing pressing procedures with precision. This smart system, centered around an industrial microcomputer and equipped with pressure sensors, represents a full automation upgrade over the previous generation. It has reduced staff labor intensity by 83.2% and features technology that leads the domestic industry. On the first day of the Spring Festival travel period, it accurately completed the pressing of 62 sets of bearings, increasing the stability of wheel-set pressing by 20%, reducing daily pressing time by 7.5%, and improving maintenance efficiency by 11.5% compared to the same period last year. This technological advancement is injecting robust support into ensuring smooth freight operations on the Lanzhou-Xinjiang Railway.
