Recent significant progress in nuclear fusion has drawn attention. On the policy front, the National Development and Reform Commission emphasized during a press conference for the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee that emerging and future industries—such as quantum technology, biomanufacturing, hydrogen energy, and nuclear fusion—should be cultivated as new economic growth points in the "16th Five-Year Plan."
Everbright Securities previously noted in a research report that amid China's energy structure transformation and industrial adjustment, SH ELECTRIC is poised to leverage its leading position to expand market share in traditional core businesses. Additionally, supported by its R&D strengths, emerging sectors like energy storage, hydrogen energy, and robotics are expected to become new profit drivers, maintaining a "Buy" rating for its A/H shares.
The report highlighted the company's breakthroughs in robotics and nuclear fusion. In robotics, SH ELECTRIC adopts a dual strategy of independent R&D and ecosystem collaboration, participating in the National Humanoid Robotics Innovation Center to accelerate commercialization. It has already initiated humanoid robot testing in nuclear power industrial scenarios.
In nuclear fusion, the company successfully delivered the world's first ITER project cryogenic test device for magnet systems. It is also set to supply core components for major national scientific projects, including the CRAFT facility and the BEST compact fusion experimental device.
