A new landmark dedicated to elderly care services is taking shape in Luohe, Henan province. The Luohe Comprehensive Elderly Care Industrial Service Park, a key provincial project and one of the city's seven major livelihood initiatives, is rapidly progressing with a total investment of approximately 1.7 billion yuan.
Located east of Xinglongshan Road and north of Xingfu North Road, the 430-acre development spans 235,000 square meters of construction area. The project is being implemented in four phases, aiming to establish a "health and elderly care hub serving Luohe and the broader Central Plains region."
The park features a comprehensive ecosystem integrating medical care, elderly support, education, catering, culture, and tourism. Key facilities include: - A 60,000-square-meter rehabilitation hospital with 500 beds, equipped with advanced facilities like hyperbaric oxygen chambers and robot-assisted training rooms - Elderly care facilities offering 536 nursing beds and 500 residential units, catering to both dependent and independent seniors with smart care systems and age-friendly designs - A nursing college jointly operated with Luohe Medical College, capable of training 1,000 professional caregivers annually - An 8,000-square-meter central kitchen with daily meal production capacity of 4,000 servings - A senior activity center collaborating with civil affairs authorities to promote cultural engagement - 46,000 square meters of high-end serviced apartments targeting traveling retirees
Construction milestones indicate steady progress: - Building 1 (floors 1-8) will be ready for medical equipment installation by December 31, 2025 - Building 2 will complete construction by December 2025 - Buildings 3 and 4 will finish structural work in November 2025, with interior decoration concluding by February 2026 - The first phase (Buildings 1-4) will be operational by March 2026 - Additional specialized facilities including stroke rehabilitation units are scheduled to break ground in November 2025
The project has partnered with Qingdao Ruiyuan Zhongkang Group to establish a professional operations company. When completed, this development will not only serve middle-to-high-income seniors but also elevate eldercare standards across the region, contributing to the development of a comprehensive modern elderly care system and the growth of the silver economy.
