NIO-SW (09866) surged over 5%, rising 5.06% to HK$41.1 with trading volume reaching HK$362 million as of press time.
On the news front, NIO will host a product technology launch event for the new ES8 on August 21 at 19:30. Previously, the L90 model from NIO's sub-brand Ledao received positive market response with its starting price of 265,800 yuan (179,800 yuan under the BaaS program).
Shenwan Hongyuan stated that as sales of models under the two new brands Ledao and Firefly gradually ramp up, the firm expects NIO's overall profitability model to see significant improvement due to economies of scale.
Additionally, on August 18, NIO announced it will enter three new markets - Singapore, Uzbekistan, and Costa Rica - between 2025 and 2026, further expanding its global business. The company will initially launch representative models from its three brands - NIO, Ledao, and Firefly - in these markets.
