During iQiyi Inc.'s interim earnings conference call, CEO Gong Yu announced that the company is transitioning from its traditional IP licensing model to self-operated IP consumer products this year.
Gong Yu explained that previously, iQiyi Inc. only engaged in licensing for IP consumer products. However, starting this year, the company has begun experimenting with self-operation, managing the entire process from IP concept planning and design through production and manufacturing to final sales.
"Currently, we have only experimented with card products, but we plan to expand into other product categories in the future. We will also establish additional proprietary sales channels," Gong Yu stated.
This strategic shift represents iQiyi Inc.'s effort to diversify its revenue streams by capitalizing on its extensive content IP portfolio through direct consumer product sales rather than relying solely on licensing agreements.
