Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has commenced its annual year-end executive reshuffle, with significant appointments and promotions announced last week. Roh Tae-moon, who was appointed acting head of the Device Experience (DX) Division in March, has now been confirmed as co-CEO and head of the division. Additionally, Yoon Chang-hyun has been named President and CTO of the DX Division, leading Samsung Research, while Park Hong-koon has been appointed head of Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology.

Beyond the three key appointments disclosed on its official website last week, Samsung Electronics has also promoted 161 executives in this year’s reshuffle. While this figure falls short of the 214 promotions in 2021, it marks a notable increase from last year’s 137. Among the newly promoted executives are 51 senior vice presidents and 93 vice presidents, including several leaders in their 30s and 40s.

The reshuffle highlights Samsung’s focus on strategic growth areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and semiconductors. The company emphasized that these leadership changes aim to strengthen competitiveness in future-oriented technologies. Samsung Electronics stated that the new appointments lay the groundwork for sustainable growth and reinforce its commitment to maintaining technological leadership.
