Throughout 2025, BYD Company Limited achieved a historic performance in the Hong Kong automotive market, demonstrating strong leadership with an impressive total of 9,751 vehicles sold. This secured the company's position as the top-selling brand in Hong Kong for the first time. The Seal 07 EV emerged as the year's best-selling model, with robust sales of 5,680 units. This "double championship" disrupted the long-standing dominance of foreign brands in the market and signified a new phase of development for Chinese new energy vehicle brands in Hong Kong.

BYD exhibited a leading trend early in the year. Data from the Hong Kong Transport Department indicated that BYD's new vehicle registrations reached 849 units in January 2025, topping the monthly sales chart. As the year progressed, bolstered by the strong performance of models like the Seal 07 EV, Seal, and Yuan PLUS, BYD became the most preferred automotive brand for Hong Kong residents for multiple consecutive months. Cumulative sales for the first half of the year hit 4,902 units, surpassing Tesla's 3,889 units and capturing a market share of 26.71%. For the full year, BYD outperformed Tesla, setting a new record with 9,751 new vehicle registrations, a significant 68% increase compared to 2024, and decisively claimed the title of Hong Kong's best-selling brand for 2025. As 2026 begins, BYD has maintained a steady and leading sales momentum.

BYD's success in Hong Kong is not accidental. In terms of retail presence, BYD has established over 10 showrooms across busy districts such as Wan Chai, Kowloon Bay, and Tsim Sha Tsui. The company has also introduced multiple models, including the Seal 07 EV, Yuan PLUS, and Denza D9, to comprehensively address diverse consumer needs. Supportive government policies have been a significant driver of BYD's sales growth. The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government extended the First Registration Tax concession for electric vehicles to encourage the transition to electrification, creating a favorable environment for the adoption of new energy vehicles. Concurrently, BYD actively capitalized on opportunities presented by the "Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles" policy, being among the first to offer convenient supporting services for local consumers, thereby further enhancing the user experience and contributing to Hong Kong's goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.

Zhang Jingrong, BYD's Hong Kong Operations Director, stated, "Looking ahead, we are confident that through technological innovation, product offerings, and customer service, we will maintain our leading position in the Hong Kong market and provide local consumers with a more diverse range of green mobility options."

Hong Kong has become a strategic gateway for Chinese automotive brands expanding overseas. BYD's success in the Hong Kong market not only marks a significant milestone for its own development but also plays a positive and exemplary role in promoting the green transformation of Hong Kong's automotive industry. With continuous technological innovation, excellent range performance, and leading intelligent features, BYD is gaining the trust of an increasing number of consumers in Hong Kong and globally.
