Analysis: Long-term Bitcoin holders have large-scalely transferred their holdings for two consecutive days, possibly to preemptively avoid macro risks

ChainCatcher reports that analyst Murphy posted that two consecutive days saw transfers exceeding 65 thousand $BTC in a single day (excluding intra-entity transfers), leading to a significant drop in long-term holder (LTH) net holdings. Murphy noted that LTH net holdings have changed their previous sustained upward trend since May, remaining stagnant through July—a rare occurrence in nearly a year. Approximately 14 thousand $BTC have been transferred into exchanges, including 2,628 $BTC transferred by a publicly traded company under Trump's ownership into Crypto.com.

He also listed potential macro-level risk factors currently affecting $BTC, including the Federal Reserve’s 9-to-3 split vote on interest rate cuts, Middle East conflicts and oil prices, highly concentrated valuations in the U.S. equity AI sector relying heavily on debt and private credit financing, and yen carry trade positions again piling up to near historically extreme one-sided net short positions, while cautioning that $BTC’s current position structure sensitivity may amplify these risks.
