On 31 October 2025, China Ruifeng Renewable Energy Holdings Limited (stock code: 00527) reported that its subsidiary C Dimension Digitech Limited, in conjunction with partners, entered into a Term Sheet with an independent third-party supplier for a clean stove carbon credit project in Laos. The project plans to deploy around 340,000 improved clean stoves in rural and underdeveloped areas, benefiting an estimated 170,000 households over a ten-year carbon credit generation cycle. According to the announcement, total emission reductions are projected to reach approximately 2.7 million tons of CO2e.
The project aims to address greenhouse gas emissions and public health challenges associated with traditional wood-burning stoves. It has been approved by the National Climate Change Department of Laos and intends to register its carbon credits under the Verra VM0050 methodology. The overall investment is approximately USD8 million, with carbon credit income cited as the main revenue source. The Term Sheet is not legally binding, other than exclusivity and confidentiality clauses, and may or may not lead to a formal agreement. China Ruifeng Renewable Energy Holdings Limited reported that the initiative aligns with international efforts to reduce emissions and boost sustainable development in rural areas.
