On March 18, Alibaba officially commenced its internship recruitment drive targeting the class of 2027. The recruitment initiative involves 16 business groups and companies under Alibaba, including Alibaba Group Holding, Alibaba Cloud, Taotian Group, Taobao Flash Sales, Alibaba International, Tongyi Laboratory, Wukong Business Unit (formerly DingTalk), Qianwen Business Unit, Pingtouge, and Amap.

In recent years, Alibaba has consistently increased investment in AI research and development while actively recruiting top talent. This year's campus recruitment has introduced seven new types of AI-related positions, with AI roles accounting for over 80% of the total openings.

The recruitment is open to recent graduates worldwide who will complete their studies between November 1, 2026, and October 30, 2027. Positions are available in domestic locations such as Hangzhou, Beijing, and Shanghai, as well as international cities including Singapore, Frankfurt, and Sunnyvale. Starting immediately, graduates can apply through the newly upgraded Alibaba campus recruitment website, the Alibaba Group recruitment official social media account, or employee referrals. Each candidate may apply for multiple positions simultaneously. According to Alibaba's recruitment officials, all resumes will be entered into the company's "talent pool," providing opportunities for consideration by other business units even if candidates are not selected in the initial round.

The new AI positions include seven categories: AI Application R&D Engineer, AI Application Algorithm Engineer, AI Agent Optimization Engineer, Agent Infrastructure Engineer, AI Data Engineer, AI Infrastructure Engineer, and AI Site Reliability Engineer. New hires will participate deeply in multimodal AI research projects.

Concurrently, Alibaba launched its "Ali Star" program for top-tier talent from the class of 2027. The program focuses on cutting-edge research in five areas: foundational models, AI infrastructure, large model applications, industrial AI, and computing architecture. Designed for elite young researchers globally, it offers an international platform and diverse business scenarios across the group, supported by top-tier resources and long-term development mechanisms. Since its inception in 2011, the Ali Star program has attracted over 200 top young technical talents, resulting in more than 3,000 published papers and patents, with breakthroughs in areas such as foundational models, AI infrastructure, and search algorithms.

Alibaba's campus recruitment website indicates that spring recruitment roadshows will begin in late March, visiting universities including Zhejiang University, Peking University, Tsinghua University, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University to introduce recruitment details and talent development plans while addressing student inquiries directly.
