On the afternoon of March 23, Huawei introduced a range of new spring products at its launch event, including the flagship Mate 80 Fengchi Edition, the budget Enjoy 90 series, and new wearable devices.

He Gang, CEO of Huawei's Consumer BG, began the event by sharing the latest figures for HarmonyOS-powered devices. As of March 22, the number of devices running HarmonyOS 5 and HarmonyOS 6 has surpassed 50 million, with an average daily increase of over 150,000 new devices. The number of accessible applications and services now exceeds 350,000. These statistics indicate that as the HarmonyOS ecosystem matures, its devices have reached a significant milestone.

The standout feature of the newly launched Mate 80 Pro Max Fengchi Edition is its advanced cooling architecture, which incorporates an internal fan for improved heat dissipation. Huawei stated that the Mate 80 Pro Max Fengchi Edition utilizes active cooling technology to deliver superior temperature control and stable performance, enhancing the user experience during prolonged activities like video recording, live streaming, and gaming.

Additionally, Huawei updated its budget-friendly Enjoy series, with the new Enjoy 90 models all equipped with Kirin 8-series chips. The Enjoy 90 Pro Max features Huawei's largest-ever 8500mAh battery, providing significantly extended battery life.

He Gang remarked that since the Mate 60 Pioneer Program launched on August 29, 2023, Huawei smartphones have made a comprehensive return to the market. The entire Huawei smartphone lineup now utilizes the company's proprietary Kirin chips.

Since the second half of last year, soaring prices of memory chips have increased pressure on smartphone manufacturing costs. Previously, competitors such as OPPO, OnePlus, and vivo publicly announced price adjustment plans. Research from third-party firm Counterpoint highlighted that rising memory prices are altering the cost structure of smartphone bills of materials, with entry-level products being the most affected.

Huawei has shown restraint in adjusting its prices. The Mate 80 Pro Max with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage is priced at 8,499 yuan, while the 16GB+1TB version costs 9,499 yuan, representing an increase of 500 yuan compared to the Mate 80 Pro Max launched in the latter half of last year. In contrast, new high-end models from other brands have generally seen price hikes of around 1,000 yuan.

The Enjoy 90 series starts at 1,299 yuan, a modest increase of only 100 yuan over the previous generation. Despite the high cost of memory chips, the Enjoy 90 series returns to the market with a strong value proposition.

The latter part of the event focused on the launch of new models under Huawei's Harmony Intelligence (Hongmeng Zhixing) automotive brand. Due to health reasons, Yu Chengdong, Chairman of Huawei's Consumer BG, was absent, and the presentation was led by He Gang. He announced that cumulative deliveries for the Harmony Intelligence vehicle lineup have exceeded 1.3 million units.
