Direxion Daily Semiconductors Bull 3x Shares (SOXL) surged 5.03% in overnight trading, reflecting strong bullish sentiment in the semiconductor sector.

The rally followed the Bank of Korea's explicit rejection of market concerns that the semiconductor boom has peaked, with the central bank asserting that the global semiconductor expansion cycle will persist for a considerable period. The Bank of Korea stated that the current semiconductor upturn remains intact due to surging demand driven by AI infrastructure investment, which is significantly outpacing the rate of supply expansion.

The central bank emphasized that the current expansion cycle, which began in March 2023, has now lasted 40 months, surpassing the historical average of 29 months. The bank also noted that supply bottlenecks for high-performance products like High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) provide structural support for the prolonged boom, as even if demand fluctuates, the supply side is unlikely to create excess pressure in the short term.
