On November 18, Hainan Provincial Party Secretary Feng Fei met with Wang Yunfeng, President and CEO of HSBC Bank (China) Company Limited, and his delegation in Haikou.
Feng Fei, on behalf of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee and Government, welcomed Wang Yunfeng and his team, expressing gratitude for HSBC's long-standing support for Hainan's economic and social development. He emphasized that as the Hainan Free Trade Port prepares for island-wide customs closure operations, expanding high-level openness to the world requires strong financial backing. With a solid foundation for cooperation between HSBC and Hainan, Feng Fei expressed hope that both sides could leverage their respective strengths to broaden and deepen strategic collaboration. This would help systematically enhance the financial openness of the Hainan Free Trade Port, supporting Chinese enterprises in "going global" and facilitating foreign businesses in "entering" the Chinese market, ultimately achieving mutual benefits through deepened cooperation.
Wang Yunfeng thanked the Hainan Provincial Party Committee and Government for their support in HSBC's development in the region and praised the progress in building the Hainan Free Trade Port. He stated that HSBC is committed to serving as a bridge connecting China with the global economy, optimizing its presence in Hainan, and leveraging its cross-border financial expertise to explore specialized services. The bank aims to promote the Hainan Free Trade Port internationally, sharing new opportunities in open development.
Provincial leader Bateer also attended the meeting.
