Liu Qiangdong: If Moutai Ever Sells for 100 Yuan, the World Would Be Wrong

On September 16, JD.com held a joint wine tasting event with Kweichow Moutai Co.,Ltd. JD.com founder Liu Qiangdong mentioned at the event that JD's delivery service features innovative new business models.

He explained that JD's delivery service hired many delivery riders in one quarter. Throughout the 15-year history of food delivery services, no platform has ever provided social insurance and housing fund benefits to any delivery worker. However, JD.com provides full social insurance and housing fund coverage for all workers. "All of JD's support comes from our products, our pricing, service, brand, and credibility," he stated.

Liu Qiangdong further pointed out that this approach mirrors that of Kweichow Moutai. He emphasized that Moutai has gained increasing love and respect from Chinese consumers and even global consumers because the company has maintained the highest quality standards for decades.

He joked, "If Moutai were to sell for 100 yuan someday, the entire world might be destroyed - that would be wrong."

In his view, he hopes that Moutai prices may go higher in the future, as consumer purchasing power will also increase, which would enable the entire industry to progress.
