It partnered with a Malaysian company for renewable energy supply.

Sembcorp Utilities Pte Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp), and Sarawak Energy Services Sdn Bhd have partnered with an underground cable systems provider to possibly import 1 gigawatt of green electricity from Sarawak to Singapore.

In a statement, Sembcorp said the preferred supplier agreement was signed with Prysmian. It will be the exclusive partner to optimise the design, installation methodology, and protection requirements for a subsea interconnector cable for renewable energy imports.

The agreement is not expected to have any material impact on the earnings per share and net tangible assets per share of Sembcorp for the financial year ending 31 December 2025.
