Andersons Inc. (ANDE) shares skyrocketed over 26% in Wednesday's intraday trading, on track for the agricultural supply firm's best single-day gain in more than 16 years. The stock surge followed Andersons' stellar fourth quarter 2024 results reported after Tuesday's market close.
For Q4, Andersons delivered adjusted earnings per share of $1.36, comfortably beating Wall Street's consensus estimates of 92 cents per share. The company's revenue of $3.12 billion also exceeded analysts' expectations of $2.72 billion.
Investors cheered the strong quarterly performance, sending Andersons shares soaring to a high of $51.22, a more than six-month peak. The stock was on pace to post its largest one-day percentage gain since May 2016, when it jumped over 23%.
