Federal Signal Corporation's stock plummeted 5.23% during the pre-market trading session on Wednesday. The company reported its fourth-quarter 2024 financial results, meeting earnings estimates but missing revenue expectations.
The manufacturer of environmental and safety equipment posted adjusted earnings of $0.87 per share for the quarter ended December 31, 2024, in line with analysts' consensus estimate. However, revenue came in at $472 million, missing analysts' expectations of $481.9 million by 2.05%.
While Federal Signal's earnings rose 17.57% year-over-year, the lower-than-expected revenue appears to have dampened investor sentiment, leading to the sharp decline in the stock price. The company's management provided guidance for 2025, projecting adjusted earnings per share between $3.60 and $3.90 and net sales between $2.02 billion and $2.1 billion.
