BYD Electronic (00285) saw its stock price surge 5.73% in intraday trading, reaching 40.66 Hong Kong dollars with a substantial trading volume of 635 million Hong Kong dollars. The significant uptick comes on the heels of positive news regarding the company's expanding role in the AI and tech sectors.

According to a report from Crédit Agricole, BYD Electronic is set to become a key supplier of power components for NVIDIA's new 800VDC AI server architecture. This development positions the company to potentially evolve into a comprehensive AI server solution provider within NVIDIA's systems. The report highlights that BYD Electronic's liquid-cooling products, including quick connectors, cold plates, and manifolds, received NVIDIA certification in March 2025 for use in NVIDIA's GB200/300NVL72 systems, with shipments to overseas customers expected to commence in the second half of 2025.

Adding to the positive sentiment, the report also revealed that Apple is collaborating with BYD Electronic on an upcoming desktop robot and home central hub. This partnership is anticipated to drive new business growth for the company. The dual prospects of becoming an integral part of NVIDIA's AI server supply chain and expanding its relationship with Apple have clearly excited investors, leading to today's substantial stock price increase.
