MMG (01208) announced that it has been continuously appointing Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Certified Public Accountants Limited (Deloitte) as its auditor since 2016. In order to more effectively ensure the independence and objectivity of the audit work, the company has decided to replace its independent auditor after a comprehensive consideration of its business development and overall audit needs. The company has communicated with Deloitte regarding this change, and Deloitte will cease to be the company's auditor after the upcoming annual general meeting (to be held on May 28, 2026).
In accordance with the relevant provisions of the Management Measures for the Selection of Accounting Firms by State-Owned Enterprises and Listed Companies issued by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, the company has conducted an open competitive bidding process for the selection of its independent auditor for the fiscal year 2026. Various factors were considered in this process, including independence, professional capability, service quality, risk management, compliance, professional record, information systems, and security, as well as the coverage of its operations and audit fee quotes within the country of operation.
Based on the bidding results, following the recommendations from the audit and risk management committee, the board of directors has resolved to appoint Ernst & Young Certified Public Accountants LLP as the new auditor to replace the outgoing Deloitte. This appointment is subject to approval by the shareholders at the annual general meeting.
