The public offering of WeRide-W (00800.HK), a global leader in Robotaxi, closed on November 3. The IPO was priced at a maximum of HK$35 per share, with a minimum subscription of HK$3,535.3 per lot. The public offering was oversubscribed by more than 50 times. Market sources indicate that the international placement portion also saw strong demand, attracting active participation from institutional investors, long-term funds, hedge funds, and high-net-worth individuals.

The grey market trading for WeRide-W will commence on November 5 at 16:15. Investor sentiment appears buoyed by two key factors: First, Dr. Han Xu, Founder and CEO, recently signed a voluntary lock-up agreement, pledging not to sell shares for the next three years. This move is seen as a demonstration of management's commitment to steady growth and confidence in the company's long-term value. Second, during the IPO period, WeRide achieved a strategic breakthrough in the Middle East, securing a city-wide fully driverless Robotaxi commercial license in the UAE, further solidifying its first-mover advantage in the region.

According to Frost & Sullivan, WeRide held a 21.8% market share in 2024 based on revenue generated from Level 4 and above autonomous driving on urban roads. In Q2 2025, the company reported revenue of RMB 127 million, a significant year-on-year increase of 60.8%. Notably, its Robotaxi business revenue surged 836.7% YoY to RMB 45.9 million, setting a new quarterly record since its inception.

Per WeRide's prospectus, the company currently operates over 1,500 autonomous vehicles, including more than 700 Robotaxis. It maintains the largest Robotaxi fleet in the Middle East outside of China and the U.S., and is the only company in the region with commercial Robotaxi operations. Globally, WeRide boasts over 2,200 days of safe operation, with approximately 55 million kilometers of autonomous driving on public roads.
